"One Billion Rising is a global campaign by women, for women.[1][2][3] The movement calls for an end to violence, and for justice and gender equality.
On February 14, 2013, a one-day event will be held, a call for one billion women around the world to walk away from their homes, businesses, and jobs, and join together to dance in a show of collective strength.[4] The event will be held on the 15th anniversary of the V-Day movement.[5] The word "billion" refers to the one billion women who are survivors of abuse."

Award winning playwright, Eve Ensler, is the founder of this movement. Eve Ensler (born May 25, 1953) is an American playwrightperformerfeministactivist and artivist, best known for her play The Vagina Monologues. Thespian and New Voice Theatre Company founder, Monique Wilson,  heads our women here in the Philippines. Monique also is a One Billion Rising coordinator in the United Kingdom.

V-Men are the men who rise with the women in advocating for women's rights and an end to all forms of violence against women. The clip below includes some of the V-Men of the Philippines. This problem cannot be solved without our help.

V-Day is a global movement to end violence against women and girls throughout the world. V-Day dreams of a world where women thrive rather than merely survive.
